The Mainlander restaurant was opened on July 3, 1962 at the intersection of Bonhomme and Hanley roads in Clayton, Missouri.
The Mainlander's lengthy menu included fresh seafood, chicken, steaks and various Polynesian dishes. Lobster Tahiti was a specialty served in a huge clam shell.
