Sam Goody

Sam Goody was one of America’s best-known music-store chains and a longtime fixture in malls across the country. Founded by Sam Gutowitz in New York, the business grew from a record retailer into a national chain selling vinyl albums, cassette tapes, CDs, movies, and music-related merchandise. For generations of shoppers, Sam Goody was a favorite place to browse new releases, discover artists, and spend time surrounded by music. Although all of the locations eventually disappeared, the Sam Goody name remains closely tied to the golden age of mall record stores. This piece of apparel is part of our Music Stores Collection.
