Avalon was the eight hundred pound gorilla of Boston nightlife. It was the most popular, most crowded and most happening club in town. There was a rotating roster of top-name music acts that headlined each week, along with the latest indie rock darlings mixing it up with folk and pop acts. It was located on Lansdowne Street.
