Gadzooks

Gadzooks was a mall-based teenage clothing retailer. The company was founded in 1983 in Mesquite, Texas. Gadzooks grew to 33 stores in Texas by 1992. By 2003, the company had approximately 400 operating stores, but decided to drop its male clothing line to focus exclusively on 16 to 22-year-old females. The change proved disastrous. In February 2004, the company filed bankruptcy. It was acquired by Forever 21 in 2005 and then shut down.
