Horace Slay Auto Sales

Horace Slay Auto Sales was a longtime Jackson, Mississippi landmark, established in 1960 at 999 South State Street. The dealership became especially well known for its bright red 1965 Corvette displayed high above the lot, a familiar sight to generations traveling along South State Street. Slay specialized in used automobiles and Corvettes during an era when this stretch of State Street was widely known as Jackson’s “Auto Row.” After more than 50 years in business, the dealership and its famous Corvette had become memorable pieces of Jackson automotive history.
