Buffalo Braves

The Buffalo Braves were an NBA team that played in Buffalo, New York, from 1970 through 1978. Led by stars such as Bob McAdoo, Randy Smith, and Ernie DiGregorio, the Braves became an exciting young team and reached the NBA playoffs three consecutive seasons during the mid-1970s. McAdoo emerged as one of basketball’s biggest stars in Buffalo, winning the NBA Most Valuable Player Award for the 1974–75 season. In 1978, the franchise relocated to San Diego and became the Clippers, beginning the lineage that continues today as the Los Angeles Clippers.
