KOME - San Jose, CA

KOME was a San Jose, California, radio station best remembered for its influential rock format and irreverent personality during the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Broadcasting at 98.5 FM, the station became a major part of the San Francisco Bay Area rock scene, famous for its distinctive diamond-shaped logo and memorable slogan, “Don’t Touch That Dial.” KOME featured generations of popular rock artists while competing with other prominent Bay Area rock stations for listeners. The KOME era ended in 1998 when the station changed formats and call letters, but the name remains fondly remembered by Bay Area rock-radio fans.
