Smith-Wills Stadium

Smith-Wills Stadium opened in 1975 on Lakeland Drive in Jackson, Mississippi, becoming one of the capital city's most recognizable sports landmarks. The stadium was the longtime home of the Jackson Mets, a Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets, and later the Jackson Generals, a Houston Astros affiliate, bringing professional minor league baseball to generations of Mississippi fans. Named in honor of longtime Jackson baseball supporters Smith Robertson and W. H. Wills, the ballpark became a favorite destination for summer evenings filled with baseball, hot dogs, and cheering crowds. This shirt is part of our Mississippi Sports Collection.
