WJDX - Jackson, MS

WJDX 620 AM is one of the most historic names in Mississippi broadcasting, first taking to the air in Jackson in 1929 and becoming the city’s first radio station. During the 1970s and early 1980s, “62 JDX” became a highly successful Top 40 station, with popular personalities and the music of the era making it a daily fixture for listeners across central Mississippi. WJDX also served as an important predecessor to WZZQ, helping pave the way for the legendary Jackson FM station that would become one of Mississippi’s best-remembered rock outlets. For generations who grew up with Jackson radio, WJDX remains one of the most recognizable and nostalgic names in Mississippi broadcasting.
