Abner's Famous Chicken Tenders was founded in 1993 by former Ole Miss football player Abner White in Oxford, Mississippi. Beginning as a small restaurant inside a gas station at the corner of South Lamar Boulevard and University Avenue, Abner's quickly became an Oxford favorite, known for its freshly prepared chicken tenders, seasoned fries, garlic bread, and signature Abner's Original Sauce. The restaurant expanded throughout Mississippi, Tennessee, and Alabama, eventually reaching a peak of 10 locations and becoming a familiar destination for college students, families, and sports fans. After more than three decades of serving customers, the chain closed its final location in March 2026, leaving behind memories of one of Mississippi's most recognizable homegrown restaurant brands. This piece of apparel is part of our Mississippi Chain Restaurants Collection.
