Bamberger's
American Retro Apparel

Bamberger's was a legendary department store chain founded by Louis Bamberger in Newark, New Jersey, in 1892, becoming one of the most prominent retailers in the Northeast. Its magnificent flagship store in downtown Newark, opened in 1912, was famous for its elaborate window displays, extensive merchandise departments, and holiday shopping traditions. One of Bamberger's most memorable attractions was The Cellar, a specialty shopping area featuring gourmet foods, kitchenware, cookware, and distinctive gifts that made it a destination in its own right. After decades as a beloved shopping institution, Bamberger's stores were renamed Macy's in 1986, bringing an end to a celebrated name in American retail history.
