The Burly Earl was a restaurant and bar located at 2109 7th Avenue South (downstairs from La Cocina restaurant) in Birmingham, Alabama. It was open from 1976 to 2008.

The Burly Earl featured live music on weekends, and was a member of the Magic City Blues Society. In addition to its famed "Mac Arthur" and "Friar" deep-fried sandwiches, the restaurant served 6.5 oz. "Burly Burgers", deli sandwiches and plates, salads, hot wings and "horse divers" appetizers such as beer-battered mushrooms and onion rings. The bar area featured dartboards, pool tables and televisions.

Early in 2008 the Burly Earl was bought by new owners, but their efforts to bolster crowds for live music failed to bear fruit and the restaurant closed in early July. A new bar, the Stillwater Pub, opened in the 3,900 square foot space in the summer of 2009.

The building was demolished in 2016 for construction of The Waites apartments.
