Jackson International Speedway in Clinton, Mississippi was a legendary high-banked, half-mile paved oval track that opened in 1968. Dubbed "The World’s Fastest Half-Mile," the historic venue hosted iconic racing stars throughout the 1970s and 1980s. Renamed the Mississippi Motor Speedway in 1986, the facility met a sudden end just a year later in 1987 when a botched resurfacing project caused a driver walkout and forced its permanent closure. Today, the legendary speedway is a famous "ghost track," completely abandoned and reclaimed by the Mississippi woods. This piece of apparel is part of our Mississippi Entertainment Collection.
