KZAP - Sacramento, CA
American Retro Apparel

KZAP 98.5 FM was a legendary Sacramento rock radio station that debuted in 1968 and became a defining voice of Northern California's counterculture and music scene. Known for its free-form programming, colorful on-air personalities, and distinctive cat logo, KZAP introduced listeners to everything from psychedelic rock and progressive music to the biggest album-oriented rock artists of the 1970s and 1980s. The station became a Sacramento institution through its concerts, community involvement, and unmistakable place on the FM dial. Although the original KZAP signed off in 1992, its legacy lives on through the memories of generations of Sacramento rock fans and the later revival of the K-ZAP name.
