Tote-Sum was a local convenience store chain with locations throughout Jackson, Mississippi. Known for its distinctive name and neighborhood locations, Tote-Sum was a familiar stop for motorists and residents picking up gasoline, cold drinks, snacks, and everyday necessities. During an era when independently operated and regional convenience stores were common sights along Mississippi's streets and highways, Tote-Sum became part of the daily routine for many Jackson-area residents. Although the Tote-Sum name has disappeared from the local retail landscape, it remains a nostalgic reminder of the neighborhood convenience stores that once served the capital city.
