Turtle's Records & Tapes
American Retro Apparel

Turtle’s Records & Tapes was a popular music-store chain remembered by generations of record buyers across the Southeast. Founded in Atlanta, Georgia in 1977, Turtle’s grew rapidly during the 1980s, with stores packed with vinyl records, cassette tapes, CDs, posters, and other music merchandise. Its distinctive turtle logo became a familiar sight in malls and shopping centers at a time when visiting the record store was part of discovering new music. Although the Turtle’s name eventually disappeared, it remains a nostalgic reminder of the golden age of neighborhood and mall record stores. This piece of apparel is part of our Music Stores Collection.
