WJZZ - Detroit, MI

WJZZ in Detroit, Michigan first aired on March 18, 1974 and quickly became the premier jazz radio station in the U.S. until business concerns forced the station to shut down in the fall of 1996. This iconic WJZZ logo dates to the late 1970s. It prominently displays the Detroit skyline and and colorful rainbow. The image was often seen on buildings, billboards, posters, buses, auto decals, license plates, hats and T-shirts.
