WLUP - Chicago, IL
American Retro Apparel

WLUP 97.9 FM, better known as “The Loop,” was one of Chicago’s most iconic rock radio stations. The WLUP call letters debuted in 1977, and the station became famous for its rock format, irreverent personality, and memorable on-air talent, including Steve Dahl and Garry Meier. Its distinctive Loop logo and larger-than-life promotions became deeply associated with Chicago radio and rock culture for generations of listeners. After more than 40 years under the WLUP identity, The Loop signed off in 2018, ending an unforgettable era in Chicago broadcasting.
